The University of Edinburgh
September 5-8, 2019
Join us for the 176th Annual Meeting of the Society of Clinical Surgery in Edinburgh, Scotland, Sept. 5-8. For the Society’s 2019 meeting, we will travel across the pond to visit The University of Edinburgh, where its Department of Clinical Surgery will serve as this year’s host.
Society members and guests are invited to stay at the Radisson Collection Hotel in the heart of Edinburgh’s Old Town, which along with New Town, is considered a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore the University and its medical school, as well as the many other buildings and museums that are situated along the Royal Mile as it runs from Edinburgh Castle to the Palace of Holyroodhouse.
The University of Edinburgh Medical School dates back to 1726, and its ties to the United States run deep. During the 18th and 19th centuries, the School’s rich heritage and the quality and reputation of its teaching attracted students from all over the world, some of whom later went on to found five of the seven Ivy League medical schools in America.
Explore the exciting arrangements for the annual meeting and register to attend by visiting the 2019 meeting website at scs2019.org, where you’ll find information regarding travel recommendations, hotel accommodations and RSVPs.
